OGIN in Uganda

Country Page

Uganda represents one of East Africa’s most dynamic markets for integrated clean energy and mobility solutions. OGIRIDE, a brand of OGIN Solutions is deploying a comprehensive ecosystem addressing three strategic priorities: rural electrification via PURE Micro Grid in a Box, FMCG distribution solarization, and solar-powered dairy sector waste management.

PURE Micro Grid in a Box

Electrification in rural & peri urban areas

Millions of Ugandans in rural and peri-urban areas lack access to reliable electricity. Traditional grid extension is slow and capital-intensive. Existing mini-grids often struggle with low energy uptake communities connect but don’t consume enough power to make the economics work. We introduce PURE Micro Grid in a Box a revolutionary, pre-engineered, containerized rural electrification solution that combines solar generation, battery storage, smart distribution, and integrated Productive Use of Energy (PURE) infrastructure in a single, rapidly deployable system.

Productive Use Equipment

Complete agro-processing and cold chain capabilities including 500kg/hour maize mill, coffee pulper and dryer, cassava chipper and grinder, grain cleaner and sorter, oil press for sunflower and groundnut, 500L milk cooling tank, 200L vaccine/medicine refrigerator, 300L freezer for fish and meat storage, and 50kg/day ice maker.

Integrated Infrastructure Modules

Our Water Module includes a solar pump controller for automated borehole pumping, UV purification for safe drinking water, 5,000L storage tank, and community dispensing points.

The E-Mobility Module features 2-4 e-trike charging stations, battery swapping for 24/7 operations, and e-bike charging points all solar-powered and integrated with Sunbread infrastructure.

Deployment Models

Our PURE Micro Grid offers four flexible deployment models including a community-owned cooperative where members pay for usage with revenue funding operations, an entrepreneur-led model with OGIRIDE providing financing and training, an anchor-business model where agricultural processors power operations while selling excess to the community, and a development partner model where NGOs fund capital costs while local entities manage operations.

Solarization of FMCG Distribution

Modernizing Uganda’s Consumer Goods Supply Chain with Clean Mobility

Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) including bottled water, soft drinks, food products, household goods, and pharmaceuticals require reliable, cost-effective distribution networks reaching from import points and manufacturers to wholesalers, retailers, and ultimately consumers across Uganda’s cities and rural areas. We deploy integrated e-cargo distribution ecosystems combining our rugged Cargo Trikes and Super Trikes with Sunbread solar charging infrastructure strategically located along distribution routes.

VEHICLES: Purpose-Built For FMCG Logistics

For FMCG logistics, OGIRIDE offers a complete ecosystem featuring the 500kg capacity Cargo Trike for medium-volume retail deliveries, the Super Trike/e-Micro Van for secure long-distance transport of higher-value goods, a refrigerated option with solar-direct-drive cooling for perishables, dairy and pharmaceuticals, plus fleet branding with custom livery and digital advertising integration. This mobility network is powered by our Sunbread charging infrastructure: Max Hubs at major distribution centers, Mini Stations in key market towns along corridors, and Micro Kiosks as hyper-local swap points for last-mile operators all designed around rapid battery swapping to minimize downtime and ensure continuous distribution operations.

Energy as a Service

Our EaaS (Energy as a Service) eliminates upfront battery costs with fixed subscriptions or pay-per-swap plans, enables 24/7 operation through instant battery swapping, and includes full maintenance with battery health monitoring and replacement coverage. Our Management Platform delivers real-time vehicle and shipment tracking, AI-powered route optimization, cold chain temperature monitoring, digital proof-of-delivery with photos, driver safety and efficiency scoring, and predictive maintenance scheduling.

Solar-Powered Dairy Sector Waste Management

Transforming Dairy Waste from Environmental Problem to Economic Asset

We deploy integrated solar-powered dairy waste management systems that transform manure and organic waste from environmental problem into revenue-generating assets

Solution Components & Service Models

Bio-Slurry Processing

Our bio-slurry processing system transforms biogas byproduct into marketable organic fertilizer. Solar drying beds dehydrate the slurry for easy handling and transport, while solar-powered mixing enhances it with complementary organic materials. Bagging equipment enables commercial fertilizer production, and an on-site solar-powered laboratory ensures quality testing for consistent, high-value output.

E-Mobility for Dairy Logistics

We deploy specialized electric vehicles for every stage of dairy operations. Refrigerated e-tricycles collect milk from farms for transport to collection centers, while cargo trikes deliver fodder and supplements to farmers. Dedicated vehicles handle manure transport to central processing facilities, and e-trikes distribute the finished bio-slurry fertilizer back to farmers creating a complete, zero-emission logistics loop.

Sunbread Hub Integration

Our Sunbread solar charging hubs are strategically co-located with dairy processing facilities, creating energy synergy where solar power serves both vehicle charging and biogas operations. Vehicle charging revenue cross-subsidizes waste processing operations, improving overall economics, while the hub becomes a one-stop center offering integrated energy and waste services to the entire dairy community.

EaaS (Energy as a Service) for Dairy Communities

Our Energy as a Service model delivers comprehensive energy solutions to dairy communities. Milk cooler power keeps off-grid cooling tanks running reliably, while pay-per-use equipment rental makes milk collection trikes accessible to small-scale operators. The model extends to home biogas with EaaS subscriptions for household digesters including full maintenance, and regular bio-slurry delivery service ensures farmers receive consistent fertilizer supply.

Rehabilitating Failed Biogas Systems

OGIRIDE revitalizes non-operational digesters through four phases:

  • Phase 1 assesses failures, identifies issues, and analyzes costs with owner consultation.
  • Phase 2 repairs or replaces digesters and components, installs solar heating for improved performance, upgrades purification, and integrates monitoring.
  • Phase 3 transforms operations from household fuel to commercial biogas through mobile pack distribution, bio-slurry marketing, and Sunbread/EaaS linkage.
  • Phase 4 provides operator and business management training, ongoing remote monitoring, and connection to local technician networks.
